Meet the Innovators

Hearth
Hearth
Connor Parrish + Daniel Yedidovich

Hearth is a smart home company creating smart vent devices for use with forced air climate control systems. We are developing hardware which regulates the temperature from room to room in customers’ homes. Using this technology, homes that experience large differences in temperature can be more tightly controlled to even the temperature or set different temperatures in different rooms. Homeowners that use Hearth can also save energy by using their climate control system less by only targeting the rooms that they are using.

Intuition
Intuition
Thomas Kittredge

Intuition, LLC intends to solve two distinct problems in the commuter safety space. We are designing a suite of wearable safety gear that uses micro-controllers to increase rider visibility and improve visual communication with nearby drivers. Piggybacking on the hardware already in place, we also have a longer term goal of developing updated functionality that will broadcast rider path and intentions to ADAS equipped and autonomous vehicles nearby, as well as aggregating data for vehicle safety and urban planning for dense city environments.

Pako Bots
Michael Aumock + Qingyuan Yu

The project is educational robots for k-12 and higher education. Current STEM technology is proprietary, expensive, and replacement parts are non-existent. The project is focused on creating open source robots that address the fundamental issues.

Uzio Technology
Uzio Technology
Zoe Welz + André Houssney

Uzio is an agriculture technology company developing the worlds first solar smart electric fence. With Uzio farmers can regulate the safety of their livestock from their phone. Uzio uses real time short detection to let farmers know when and where their fence is down, so they can react faster to problems and make sure their livestock are exactly where they’re supposed to be. By making fencing easier to use and more protective, Uzio is empowering farmers to practice more sustainable livestock management practices.

Traxart Toys
Traxart Toys
Susan Crouse + Taylor Scott + Hunter Reid

Traxart Toys invented Kinazium, a construction play-set that lets kids develop environments for their robotic and other toys. With Kinazium kids can design games, build mazes, pinball, skeeball and much more. Included sensors can be programmed to score points, be timers or provide robotic toy interaction. Kinazium is infinitely expandable and provides long-term creative engagement while letting kids intuitively learn basic physics and math concepts.
